OPERATION: Scare 'N Share 2015

Hello All! 
October crept up on us this year! We are a little behind, but on our way to setting up for our Halloween light show, Operation: Scare 'n Share!!! We are blessed enough to have the help of our local boy's soccer team to get us in gear! After all, many hands make "light" work wink emoticon
We will be posting a schedule soon! As always, we will be collecting canned goods for our local food pantry. Thanks so much!

Christmas 2014!!!

We are well underway with 2014's Christmas light show! Thanks to the help of many volunteers setting up and testing lights, we were able to start the show early! We have had a lot of questions about our nightly schedule that runs until Christmas, so here goes....
Sunday-Thursday 5:00-9:00 pm
Friday and Saturday 5:00-10:00 pm
The show is a 10-minute long show that runs continuously starting at 5 pm. When you get to our house at 213 Canterbury Road in Wells, tune your car radio to 88.9 FM. You can sit in the comfort of your warm car and watch the lights programmed to music. On Friday and Saturday nights we have wonderful volunteers helping to direct traffic, please look for the brightly colored vests to help you to get the best view of the show. Please be considerate of our WONDERFUL neighbors by not blocking driveways and allowing enough room for cars to get by. Please follow the signs for entering and exiting our neighborhood so that you don't have to turn around in driveways.
There is a donation box at the end of the driveway for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine for those who would like to donate. All donations will go to a Maine child who needs a Christmas wish!

We are excited to announce that YOU GRANTED ANOTHER WISH!!!! We delivered your $6,132.63 to Make A Wish Maine this morning! Because of your generosity another very special child will be given a very BIG surprise! Thank you for another great year full of love, laughter and lights! Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year from our family to yours!!!!

Christmas is fast approaching…just 9 days away!!! The lights will be up and running every night until Christmas night.  We hope you all get the chance to stop by to enjoy the show!!!

As you may know, we collect voluntary donations for the Make A Wish Foundation of Maine.  The average cost of a child’s wish is $6000, which gives the family and child a small break from their struggles and makes wonderful, cherished memories for wish children and their families.  No donation is too big or too small.  Due to the short Christmas season, we are only about a third of the way to granting a child’s wish this year.  Please help us spread the word and Christmas cheer to make a very special child’s wish come true.

Merry Christmas everyone!

We at Norton Lights have been very busy to try and get the show ready for all our wonderful patrons. 

ü  Yard set up

o   One mega tree

o   Ribbon candy Christmas tree on house

o   Star and tail on house

o   Star wands

o   Tree trunks

ü  Lights tested (have to fix a couple things in the yard thanks to mother nature)

ü  Programming (98% done, we still need to test and tweak to make it perfect)

ü  Candy canes (over 5000 ready to go)

ü  Signs ready to go up

We have been non-stop since Halloween to try and get everything going.  I even had to take a week off from work to program the show.  We still have a little work to do and with our schedule, we will need the rest of the week to finish it up. 

Norton Lights will start on Friday the 6^th this year.  We know it’s a short season this year, we tried to start a little early, but our schedules make that difficult.  So the lights will run from 5:00 to 9:00 Sunday to Thursday, and 5:00 to 10:00 on Friday and Saturday nights until Christmas. 

We are excited to be teaming up with Make a Wish of Maine again this season to try and raise enough money to grant the wish for a child with a life threatening illness in the state of Maine.  With your help, we hope to meet that goal.

As always, we ask that everyone who comes to visit please be considerate of our neighbors and please do not block their driveways.

It was a pretty incredible night, despite the rain! Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's OPERATION: Scare 'N Share a success! You donated 698 pounds of food and $442.60! We can't wait to deliver your donations to the food pantry!
We had a very exciting moment last night, when an Airman, who recently returned from a 6 month deployment proposed to his devoted girlfriend in front of the house. We had been planning for a week to pull off this special surprise and programmed the song "Marry Me" for the two of them. Thank you for including us in this special moment and a HUGE thank you to our dear friends who captured the moment for them by taking pictures! Here's the happy couple!
